MERC subject matter experts have developed test stations for a wide range of uses such as radome transmissivity, radar warning receivers, defensive avionics systems, and electromechanical flight controls.
MERC’s EW engineering team is particularly skilled in systems engineering evaluation of the radio frequency (RF) systems performance and antenna co-site analysis needed to add or modify these RF systems. MERC is experienced in identifying a suitable physical location for the antenna to ensure compliant antenna performance, proper physical placement to minimize RF cable loss, and selection of RF cable and other in-line components including current limiters, filters, and amplifiers. We are experienced in performing antenna co-site analysis using CAD modeling software to compute radiation and scattering from aircraft structures and its effects on antenna performance. For RF systems modeling, MERC has developed properly meshed, closed surface models required for electromagnetic (EM) effects simulation and our EM simulation software utilizes finite element-boundary integral methods to allow for high fidelity simulation of large complex structures.
