Operational Flight Program Analysis, Development, and Testing

MERC provided engineering services and expertise related to the various EW systems on the B-1B, B-52G, MC-130, AC-130, and F-15 aircraft. Our efforts included test and evaluation support, threat radar system analysis, embedded software maintenance, support software development and maintenance, logistics, and maintenance support.

MERC continues to provide software engineering support to resolve ambiguous and unidentified RF emissions detected by the AN/ALQ-161A system. MERC’s software development support includes all phases of the ALQ-161A Preprocessor Flight Software (PFS) Operational Flight Program. Our primary responsibility is to identify deficiency candidates, incorporate solutions, and test the resulting PFS block cycle product as directed by AFLCMC/WNY and in conjunction with other government organizations and/or contractors.

As a Government-authorized lab, MERC houses and maintains the B-1 ALQ-161A Defensive Avionics System (DAS) at the MERC facility. This collaborative system test facility will significantly increase the capabilities for the Robins AFB EW Avionics Integrated Support Facility. The Robins AFB B-1 ALQ-161 DAS lab is significantly over-booked and has an increasing level of demand. MERC provides the USAF customers a unique opportunity to have a second B-1 ALQ-161 DAS lab within 5.5 miles from Robins AFB.
