Noah Harrell (Mercer) and Jack DeWitt (GA Southern) take measurements to build accurate 3D models of an engine assembly, which is critical to identifying the root cause of on-aircraft damage. Noah and Jack also supported the redesign of an aircraft equipment rack, learning key skills about the engineering development and the airworthiness approval processes.

Owen Giguere (UGA) uses a micrometer to measure the depth of damage on a special purpose window on the C-130, prior to repair. Establishing safe damage limits and repair methodologies is one of MERC’s core engineering skills and is essential to keeping the US Air Force C-130 fleet fully mission capable.
