The IDE was developed in Java to allow cross-platform compatibility, and incorporates a modular design that allows for the addition of more systems through the inclusion of the necessary assembler, linker, and utility modules required to support the new target system.
In support of the Electronic Warfare Group at Robins Air Force Base, MERC has developed an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for use in maintaining and modifying assembly-level source code for several Electronic Warfare systems. The IDE provides both ASCII text and hexadecimal editors for code development and modification. It also provides a wrapper for the assembler and linker applications, checksum utilities, and file conversion utilities necessary to support operational flight program (OFP) development and maintenance activities for the target systems.
