C-130 Avionics/Electronics Integrity Program (AVIP)

Since its inception, the C-130 has been the backbone of the Air Force Air-Lift Capability. With such a long service life, some of the components on the aircraft are facing critical obsolescence issues.

MERC provided support services to implement the C-130 Avionics/Electronics Integrity Program (AVIP) Master Plan, which was designed to improve C-130 aircraft availability, increase reliability, decrease total ownership costs (TOC), while maximizing aircraft safety.

By increasing the reliability of aircraft avionics and electrical systems, MERC achieved its goal of ensuring the Operational, Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) of the weapon system while reducing operating cost and maximizing aircraft availability.
